On March 10th, 2008, iDefense reported a vulnerability in the current version (5.1.2) of the netOctopus Software Distribution Center (SDC). The vulnerability is severe, giving an attacker the ability to run arbitrary code on the SDC server. To prevent these attacks, the user should discontinue use of the netOctopus SDC. Alternatively, the user could configure their network to allow access to the SDC server from only fully trusted machines. If you have questions, please call 510-597-5400.
