To update the netOctopus Mac Agent (4.0 Mac OS Classic):

1. Select the Macintosh machines that you want to update in your Computers Window.
2. Choose the Install

   

   or Execute Macintosh Installer from the commands menu.

   

3. Select or drop the netOctopus Agent Updater file from the netOctopus Agent Updaters folder in the netOctopus 4.0 image, which contains the netOctopus 4.0 Administrator.
4. Click OK. This will update the Agent version and keep the old preferences and present control panels mode (ie. Special Agent)

To update the netOctopus Mac Agent (3.6.x):

1. Update the netOctopus Mac Administrator to the latest version available.
2. Launch the netOctopus Mac Administrator and search all zones for your Agents.
3. Apply the "Macs Only" filter to the Computers window.
4. Select the Macs to be updated in the Computers window and choose Installer Scripts from the Commands menu.
5. Drag and drop or select the InstallAgent Script located in the netOctopus Administrator:netOctopus Agent Files:netOctopus Agent Mac Updater folder.
6. Check the box for "Easy Install" at the bottom of the Installer Scripts window and click the OK button.

   

To update the netOctopus Windows 9X/ME Agents:

(From the Windows or Macintosh netOctopus Administrator)

1. Place the Windows Agent Setup executable on a network share and grant guest read and write access.
2. Within the netOctopus Administrator, create the following three simple filters:

   "OS Platform contains Windows Millenium" (Apply to Mac and Windows)
   "OS Platform contains Windows 98" (Apply to Mac and Windows)
   "OS Platform contains Windows 95" (Apply to Mac and Windows)

3. Create a compound filter to include the three preceeding simple filters and apply it to the Computers window.
4. Select the machines to be updated in the Computers window and choose Execute PC Installer from the Commands menu. Use the following parameters:

   

   - Network drive: blank
   - Windows Networking
   - User name: blank
   - Password: blank
   - Domain: blank
   - No drive letter
   - Executable path: \\server \share\
   - Executable: Windows Agent Setup.exe
   - Options: /s

To update the netOctopus Windows Agents on Windows NT and 2000 machines:

(From the Windows or Macintosh netOctopus Administrator)

1. Place the Windows Agent Setup executable on a network share and grant guest read and write access.
2. Within the netOctopus Administrator, create the following two simple filters:

   "OS Platform contains Windows NT" (Apply to Mac and Windows)
   "OS Platform contains Windows 2000" (Apply to Mac and Windows)

3. Create a compound filter to include the two preceeding simple filters and apply it to the Computers window.
4. Select the machines to be updated in the Computers window and choose Execute PC Installer from the Commands menu. Use the following parameters:

   

   - Network drive: blank
   - Windows NT networking
   - User name: Adiministrator or Domain Administrator account valid on Agent machines
   - Password: account password
   - Domain: Name of domain if applicable
   - No drive letter
   - Executable path: \\server name\sharename\
   - Executable: Windows Agent Setup.exe
   - Options: /s
