TCP/IP Scanner not finding computers

Problem:

Timbuktu Pro's TCP/IP Scanner feature is not scanning any computers on its network.

Solution:

There can be a few causes of this problem

  1. Are the other computers on a different subnet? If so, make sure that IP Broadcasting is enabled on your router.
  2. Is TCP/IP incoming access selected on all systems? If this is not selected, the computer will not show up in the scanner window
  3. Is your local TCP/IP information correct? Check your router IP address and subnet mask for errors and make sure that information is the same as other systems on your network that you wish to scan.
  4. Are you using a TCP/IP zones file? If so, double-check that the zones file is setup correctly. Please call Technical Support to verify this setup.
